The integration of gender into the security policymaking process is evidently paramount, along with engaging citizens and communities in the development of strategies. It is crucial that we prioritize the inclusion of women in peace processes and decision-making roles, starting with ensuring equal opportunities for women in the recruitment stage. During the discussion, I shared my firsthand experiences and shed light on the obstacles women encounter in their pursuit of #progress and #inclusivity within the security sector. It then reviews the protection given to migrants’ rights under international law - human rights law, labour standards, criminal law and through diplomatic protection - and their duties to host societies.
